Lumba’s “Celebration of Life” event: Court to rule on injunction
Legal proceedings surrounding the planned “Celebration of Life” tribute for the late Daddy Lumba have taken a new turn, as organisers and family representatives await a ruling on an injunction request.
The application was filed by Abusuaapanyin Kofi Owusu, who is seeking to block the event.
The Accra High Court has scheduled its decision for March 25, 2026, following arguments presented during the hearing.
Papa Shee, speaking on behalf of the organisers, explained that the maternal family of Daddy Lumba and the planning committee had asked the court to fast-track the process due to the urgency of the matter.
The event itself is slated for March 28 and 29, 2026.
The outcome of the injunction will determine whether the tribute programme will proceed as planned or whether it will be halted pending further legal action.
