Veteran Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame has shared a deeply emotional experience he had after listening to Black Sherif’s song “So It Goes,” describing the track as powerful enough to bring him to tears.

Speaking in a recent interview, the award-winning musician revealed that he broke down while hearing the song for the first time during a studio session where he was working on his anti-galamsey project titled Stop Galamsey.

According to him, the moment came unexpectedly when his producer, Abochi, played selections from Black Sherif’s newly released Iron Boy album shortly after its release. One particular record stood out and emotionally overwhelmed him.

“The first time I heard the song, I cried. I was in the studio recording Stop Galamsey when Abochi played it before we started. It had only been out for a couple of days,” he recounted.

Okyeame Kwame praised Black Sherif for his songwriting ability, vocal delivery, and emotional depth, noting that his music carries a rare level of sincerity and relatability. He added that a specific lyric — “If you see the light, remember I was with you” — resonated strongly with him and deepened the emotional impact of the song.

He further described Black Sherif as one of the few Ghanaian artists currently injecting real excitement into the music scene, highlighting his artistry as both refreshing and inspiring.
