Ghanaian singer and songwriter RCee has opened up about the creative forces behind his music, pointing to his lifestyle, social interactions, and exposure to diverse sounds as major influences.

In an interview on The Corporate Lounge with Irene Serwaa Kwarfo on Accra-based Class 91.3 FM, the rising artiste explained that many of his ideas come from his everyday experiences.

He described himself as someone who enjoys both quiet indoor moments and the energy of going out, noting that this balance helps shape his perspective and, ultimately, his music.

RCee added that being around people—especially women—and engaging in real conversations often spark emotions and stories that he later channels into his songs.

According to him, these interactions give his music a relatable and authentic feel.

The singer also highlighted the role of music consumption in his creative process.

He revealed that he listens to a wide variety of sounds, particularly old-school records and French music.

He explained that French music, much like some traditional and Islamic-influenced sounds, carries distinctive melodic patterns that stand out to him.

“These melodies are different,” he implied, noting that he studies and experiments with them to create something unique within his own soundscape.
