Ablekuma Zongo chief appeals for health facility, market development

News
The Zongo Chief of Ablekuma, Sariki Musa Nsor

The Zongo Chief of Ablekuma, Sariki Musa Nsor, has called on the government to support his community with critical development projects, particularly in healthcare and commerce.

According to him, although the area has recently benefited from road improvements, an initiative he described as commendable, however, the community continues to face significant challenges, Chief among them is the absence of a functional health facility.

He revealed that a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound constructed during the first term of President John Dramani Mahama remains unequipped and, therefore, unable to serve its intended purpose.

Sariki Musa Nsor further recalled that during his time in opposition, President Mahama visited the community and promised to provide the necessary equipment to make the facility operational. He is now urging the government to fulfill that commitment so residents can access proper healthcare.

In addition to healthcare concerns, the chief also appealed for the establishment of a local market. He explained that many women in the community are forced to travel long distances to trade, a situation he believes could be improved with a nearby marketplace.

The appeal was made during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations in Ablekuma Zongo, where the chief highlighted the urgent needs of his people and called for swift government intervention.
