Power restored to Dodowa, Oyibi after feeder faults disrupt supply
Electricity supply has been restored to Dodowa, Oyibi, and surrounding communities following disruptions caused by multiple faults on key distribution lines.
The outages were linked to damage on the Dodowa and Valley View feeders, which supply power to the affected areas. Engineers successfully resolved one of the faults late last night, restoring partial supply.
Authorities say work is ongoing to construct a new 10-span overhead line to bypass a damaged 33kV cable that has been responsible for repeated interruptions in recent weeks.
Despite deploying three contractors to expedite repairs, the work could not be completed as scheduled.
Teams are expected to resume operations with additional resources to fast-track completion.
In the meantime, power has been restored, although engineers are currently managing electricity load from two feeders on a single line to maintain system stability.
Residents have been assured that efforts are underway to improve reliability, with further updates to be provided as work progresses.
Authorities also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the outages and appealed for continued patience from affected customers.
