Book of condolence opened at Spintex residence of Dr Ofosu-Ampofo for late father
The family of Dr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Political Advisor to the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and immediate past National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced the passing of his father, Opanin Edward Kwabena Ofosu-Ampofo.
According to a statement issued by the family, the late Opanin Ofosu-Ampofo died peacefully in the early hours of Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the age of 93.
The family described him as a man admired for his kindness, humility, and strong Christian values.
They noted that he lived a life marked by quiet strength, compassion, and unwavering faith, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, service, and devotion to both family and community.
“A life of discipline, respect, and love for humanity defined him,” the statement added.
A Book of Condolence has been opened at the Spintex residence of Dr Ofosu-Ampofo, near the Bastoona Total Filling Station, from Thursday, April 9 to Saturday, April 11, 2026, for sympathisers, friends, and well-wishers to pay their last respects.
The family indicated that funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
The statement was signed by the family spokesperson, Richard Frimpong Yirenkyi, on behalf of the Ofosu-Ampofo family.
