Buipewura Jinapor II pays courtesy call on Volta River Authority leadership in Accra

The Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Council and Vice President of the Gonja Traditional Council, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, has paid a courtesy call on the Executive Management of the Volta River Authority at its Head Office in Accra.

The visit was to formally congratulate the Chief Executive and his deputies on their appointments and commend their leadership over the past year.

Welcoming the traditional leader, the Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority, Edward E. Obeng-Kenzo, expressed appreciation for the visit and the goodwill extended to management.

He reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to its mandate of delivering reliable electricity to support national development.

He also stressed VRA’s continued efforts to safeguard the Volta Lake, describing it as a critical resource for the generation of hydroelectric power from the Akosombo Dam.

For his part, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II congratulated management on their leadership and assured them of his prayers and support in ensuring energy security for the country.

He encouraged the Authority to continue working diligently to sustain power supply and contribute to Ghana’s development agenda.

 

As part of the visit, the Chief Executive presented kola to the Buipewura as a traditional gesture of appreciation.

In return, the traditional leader presented a richly designed fugu to management as a symbol of goodwill and cordial relations between the institution and the traditional authority.
