CAGD begins payment of salary arrears qwed to Health and Education workers
The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department has announced the commencement of payments for outstanding salary arrears owed to affected workers within the education and health sectors dating back to August 2024.
In a statement signed by the Department’s Head of Public Relations, Cephas N. Dosoo, the CAGD explained that the arrears will be paid in phases over a four-month period under an approved payment arrangement.
According to the schedule released by the Department, beneficiaries will receive payments covering four months of arrears each month from May through August 2026.
Under the arrangement:
May 2026 — four months of arrears June 2026 — four months of arrears July 2026 — four months of arrears August 2026 — four months of arrearsThe Department further indicated that the first phase of payments is expected to be completed by Friday, May 29, 2026.
CAGD assured affected workers that subsequent disbursements would continue according to the approved timeline until all outstanding arrears are fully settled
