Chamber of ESG launched to drive climate resilience and corporate compliance in Ghana
The Chief Excutive Officer of Discovery Leadership Consulting, Frank Anim, has called for stronger adoption of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices to help Ghana address climate change and build resilient institutions.
Speaking during an interview, Mr Anim said the annual summit he convenes was inspired by the need to change the narrative around climate impacts and galamsey, and to push corporate institutions toward better environmental compliance.
"ESG is here to stay," Anim said. "Whether you are an Small and Medium Enterprise or a large institution, now is the time to put structures and systems in place to meet ESG compliance and mitigate the effects of climate change."
He identified low awareness among institutional leaders as a major challenge.
According to him, many heads of organizations do not fully understand climate change or how ESG frameworks can be used to manage its effects across sectors.
To address this, Anim announced the formation of the Chamber of ESG and Sustainability Leadership.
The chamber will focus on advocacy, technical support for institutions on ESG compliance, and annual recognition for organizations meeting ESG standards.
Anim said better understanding and application of ESG would improve accountability, attract investment, and strengthen Ghana’s response to climate change.
