Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom welcomes court ruling restoring GN Bank's licence
President of Groupe Nduom, Papa Kwesi Nduom, has welcomed the decision of the Court of Appeal to restore the operating licence of GN Bank.
The ruling, delivered on May 21, overturns the earlier decision by the Bank of Ghana to revoke the bank’s licence as part of the country’s financial sector reforms.
Reacting to the judgment in a Facebook post, Dr. Nduom expressed excitement over the development and indicated that the institution is prepared to resume operations.
“We are ready to go back to work,” he stated.
The court’s decision marks a major development in the prolonged legal battle surrounding the revocation of the licences of several financial institutions during the banking sector clean-up exercise.
The restoration of GN Bank’s licence is expected to generate renewed discussions within Ghana’s financial sector, particularly among customers and stakeholders affected by the earlier regulatory action.
Further details on the implementation of the ruling and the next steps for the bank are expected in the coming days.
