Energy Minister assures stable power supply, denies return of ‘dumsor’
The Minister for Energy, John Abdulai Jinapor, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to maintaining a stable electricity supply, dismissing claims that power rationing, popularly known as dumsor, has returned.
Speaking before the Government Assurances Committee, the minister explained that efforts are underway to replace over 1,000 transformers across the country.
According to him, the initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the national power distribution system and prevent outages.
Mr Jinapor emphasised that the ongoing replacement of transformers is a proactive measure aimed at ensuring consistent and reliable electricity for citizens.
He stressed that significant work is being done within the energy sector to sustain stability and meet growing demand.
He further clarified that there is no ongoing power rationing, urging the public to disregard such reports, and assured Ghanaians that the government remains focused on delivering uninterrupted power supply.
