Jospong Group donates to Chief Imam to mark Eid
The Jospong Group of Companies has extended its annual gesture of goodwill to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu with a donation of bags of rice, boxes of cooking oil, and an undisclosed amount of money during the Eid celebration.
The presentation, which took place at the residence of the National Chief Imam, forms part of the company’s long-standing tradition of supporting the Muslim community during the holy period.
Speaking on behalf of the company, Ms. Emma Adwoa Appiaa Osei-Duah, Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs at Zoomlion Ghana Limited, said the gesture reflects the Group’s appreciation of the Chief Imam’s continuous efforts in promoting peace and national cohesion, particularly during Ramadan.
“This year, we have come again to celebrate with our Muslim colleagues and friends. We bring these items to the Chief Imam to share with his people,” she noted.
She further revealed that the visit coincided with the birthday of the Executive Chairman of the Group, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, adding that special prayers were offered by the Chief Imam for his continued success and guidance.
Beyond the donation, the company used the occasion to reiterate its commitment to environmental sustainability, urging Ghanaians to maintain clean and green surroundings as a shared national responsibility.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Chief Imam, Alhaji Abdul Latif, Protocol Officer at the National Chief Imam’s office, expressed profound gratitude to the Group and its leadership for what he described as over two decades of consistent support.
“We are thankful for what Zoomlion has been doing for our father for 25 years now. May Allah continue to guide Dr. Agyepong wherever he may find himself,” he said.
He also commended Ghana’s longstanding peaceful co-existence and religious harmony, highlighting the strong bond between Christians and Muslims in the country.
“We are fortunate that Christians and Muslims can dialogue, eat together, and agree, showcasing the unity and harmony in Ghana,” he added.
The donation underscores the Jospong Group’s broader commitment to social responsibility, interfaith solidarity, and national development.
