GA/R: Fire partially destroys 2-storey building at Ashaley Botwe
A fire partially destroyed a two-storey building at Ashaley Botwe in the Adentan Municipality of the Greater Accra Region on Thursday, April 9, 2026. ADOI Isaac Kwadwo Opoku, of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), speaking from the scene, identified that the property is owned by Prophet Daniel Obinim.
The blaze reportedly started in the upper section of the building before spreading to other areas, leaving parts of the structure severely damaged.
Three fire tenders from the Adenta, Madina, and University of Ghana fire stations responded to the incident this morning.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) worked to contain the flames, prevent further destruction, and ensure the safety of occupants and nearby properties.
The cause of the blaze is unknown, as investigations unfold.
No casualties have been yet reported.
Officials said an assessment will be conducted to determine the full extent of the damage.
