The Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku onstituency in the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, has intensified his grassroots engagement efforts with a visit to fisherfolk and fishmongers in Teshie, reaffirming his commitment to community development and inclusive governance.

During the interaction, Hon. Ayiku updated constituents on his role in Parliament and outlined key government policies and interventions targeted at improving conditions within the fishing sector.

He addressed longstanding concerns over the supply of premix fuel, assuring the community of ongoing measures to ensure its timely and consistent availability.

In a show of support, the MP distributed energy-saving bulbs and provided financial assistance to the Fisherfolk and Fishmongers Association to help boost their operations.

As part of his visit, Hon. Ayiku also inspected the ongoing construction of a fish smoking facility at Teshie London Bridge.

The project, once completed, is expected to provide a cleaner, safer, and more efficient environment for fish processing and preservation.

He emphasized that the facility remains a top priority and pledged to see it completed in the shortest possible time.

Hon. Ayiku reiterated his dedication to advocating for the welfare of fisherfolk and fishmongers in Parliament, adding that he will continue to collaborate with key stakeholders to promote sustainable fishing practices and improve livelihoods in the constituency.

The visit was met with a warm reception, as members of the fishing community expressed appreciation for the MP’s continued engagement and practical support.
