Gov't delegation calls on Otumfuo to discuss major road projects in Ashanti Region
A high-level government delegation has called on His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to discuss key infrastructure projects aimed at improving transportation in the Ashanti Region.
The delegation included the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene; the Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza; his Deputy, Alhassan Suhuyini; and the Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi.
The engagement focused on major road projects including the Accra–Kumasi Expressway, rehabilitation works on the old highway, and the Suame Interchange, among other critical interventions designed to ease congestion, improve mobility, and boost economic activity in the region.
Also present were chief executives and senior officials from the Urban Roads Department, Feeder Roads Authority, and the Highways Authority, alongside regional directors of the respective agencies.
The visit formed part of ongoing consultations between government and traditional authorities to accelerate infrastructure development and ensure coordinated delivery of priority national projects.
Officials reaffirmed government’s commitment to working closely with traditional leaders and stakeholders to improve road infrastructure and enhance the quality of life of residents in the Ashanti Region.
