Gov't reaffirms support for KAIPTC at high-level meetings in Accra
The government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre following high-level engagements held in Accra.
The meetings, which included the 3rd High-Level Meeting and a Governing Board session, were chaired on behalf of the Minister for Finance, Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, by his Deputy, Ernest Brogya Gebfi.
Participants held frank and productive discussions focused on the operations, sustainability, and future direction of the Centre, which plays a key role in peacekeeping training and security cooperation in the region.
During the engagements, appreciation was extended to international partners for their continued support of the Centre.
The government also assured stakeholders of its readiness to review central funding arrangements to ensure the long-term sustainability of the institution.
The Commandant of the Centre, David Akrong, was commended alongside management for implementing measures aimed at maintaining the Centre’s operational effectiveness.
The meetings reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to promoting peacekeeping excellence and positioning the KAIPTC as a leading hub for regional and global security collaboration.
