Mahama makes further ministerial changes, moves Pelpuo to Special Initiatives

Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo reassigned from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Job Creation to serve as Minister of State for Special Initiative

President John Dramani Mahama has made further changes to his government, reassigning two ministers and a deputy minister with immediate effect.

The changes were announced in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and signed by Presidential Spokesperson and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

Under the changes, Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo has been reassigned from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Job Creation to serve as Minister of State for Special Initiatives.

Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum will replace him as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation.

The President has also reassigned Ernest Brogya Genfi, who previously served as Deputy Minister for Defence, to serve as Presidential Adviser on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness.

The reassignments take immediate effect.
