Mahama nominates five to Ghana’s Fiscal Council
President John Dramani Mahama has nominated five professionals for appointment to Ghana’s Fiscal Council in line with provisions of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), as amended.
The nominees are Emmanuel Oteng Kumah, who has been named Chairperson, alongside Patrick Opoku Asuming, Leslie Dwight Mensah, Kweku Bedu-Addo, and Henry Kofi Wampah.
According to the Presidency, the nominees bring a wealth of experience from academia, public policy, research, and financial governance to support the Council’s mandate.
The Fiscal Council is expected to play a key role in strengthening fiscal discipline, enhancing oversight, and promoting prudent management of public finances in Ghana.
Their appointments, once approved, are anticipated to contribute to sound economic decision-making and improved fiscal governance.![]()
