Police assure public of tight security for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations in Accra
The Ghana Police Service has assured residents of Accra of adequate security measures ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Fitrcelebrations.
In a statement, the Accra Regional Police Command indicated that comprehensive arrangements have been put in place to ensure peaceful and incident-free festivities across the region.
According to the command, sufficient police personnel have been deployed to strategic locations, including mosques, Eid prayer grounds, major roads, markets, transport terminals, and other public spaces to safeguard lives and property.
Special traffic management teams have also been assigned to regulate vehicular movement before, during, and after prayers, with the aim of reducing congestion and enhancing road safety.
Additionally, patrol teams will intensify visibility policing within communities to deter crime and ensure rapid response to emergencies.
The Police Command has called on the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with security personnel, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
Motorists and pedestrians have also been advised to strictly adhere to traffic regulations to support a safe and orderly celebration.
The command extended its best wishes to the Muslim community and the general public for a peaceful and joyous Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.
