#ResettingGhana: Mahama's 2-day northern tour to engage citizens, gather feedback, review development projects
President John Dramani Mahama will on Saturday, April 18, 2026, begin a two-day #ResettingGhana tour of the Northern Region.
The visit marks the second leg of the nationwide engagement initiative, following a similar tour in the Bono Region. It is aimed at giving citizens — through their traditional leaders — the opportunity to interact directly with the president, provide feedback on government policies, and discuss how these initiatives are impacting their daily lives.
The tour will also create space for residents to raise concerns requiring government attention, while offering updates on ongoing development projects in the region.
President Mahama will be accompanied by a delegation of ministers and heads of state institutions. During the visit, he is expected to cut the sod for the construction of 24-hour markets and inspect the progress of key projects.
On Sunday, the President will hold a town hall meeting at the University for Development Studies in Tamale. The session will allow government appointees to outline major interventions implemented over the past year, as part of efforts to promote transparency and accountability.
