The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has reiterated Ghana’s commitment to safe, orderly, and well-managed migration at the First Quarter meeting of the National Coordination Mechanism on Migration in Accra.

The meeting coincided with the presentation of operational equipment to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), aimed at strengthening emergency response systems and supporting vulnerable migrants.

The equipment was funded by the European Union and donated through the International Organization for Migration under the ATTU Project.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Muntaka noted that the intervention would enhance Ghana’s capacity to manage internal displacement and improve protection along the country’s northern migration corridors, particularly in the Upper East and Upper West Regions.

Also present at the meeting were the European Union Ambassador to Ghana, Rune Skinnebach, and the IOM Head of Mission, Fatou Ndiaye.

Madam Ndiaye described the donation as a strategic investment in strengthening Ghana’s emergency response system, emphasizing its importance in safeguarding vulnerable populations.
