Sentuo Group Limited has presented a major consignment of food, drinking water and protective supplies to the Office of the President at Jubilee House for onward distribution to households and communities affected by the devastating floods of June 29, 2026.

The donation forms part of efforts to strengthen the national flood-relief response as affected families continue to deal with damaged homes, disrupted livelihoods and shortages of basic household necessities.

According to the company’s corrected donation record, the consignment includes 4,000 bags of rice weighing 25 kilograms each, 800 bags of sugar weighing 50 kilograms each, 400 boxes of granular maize, 1,000 pairs of Wellington boots, 4,000 bags of sachet water, 1,000 mosquito nets, 500 cartons of Abena Sunflower Oil and 300 cartons of Cindy Sardines.

The rice amounts to 100 metric tonnes, while the sugar accounts for 40 metric tonnes, giving a confirmed combined weight of 140 metric tonnes.

No additional tonnage has been assigned to the maize, water, oil or sardines because their individual unit weights were not provided.

The items are expected to support the immediate needs of flood-affected households, with the food supplies helping to address food security concerns, while sachet water provides access to safe drinking water.

The mosquito nets and Wellington boots are also expected to provide protection against mosquito-borne diseases and the difficult conditions associated with waterlogged communities.

The donation was received on behalf of the state by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, by Legal Adviser to the President Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew, and Presidential Adviser Nana Yaa Jantuah, among other officials.

The Sentuo Group delegation was led by Group Chairman Ningquan Xu and included Head of Operations Eric Lin; Jiang Wenjie; and President Samson Deen, International Business and Coordination Director, alongside other members of staff.

The presentation at Jubilee House provided national visibility to the intervention, but its ultimate impact will depend on the timely, fair and accountable distribution of the items to people and communities most affected by the floods.

The donation underscores the role of private-sector organisations in complementing government’s disaster-response efforts, particularly during emergencies when the needs of affected communities can exceed the capacity of public institutions.
