South Korea's Yonsei University to confer honorary degree on President Mahama
Yonsei University in South Korea is set to confer an honorary degree on John Dramani Mahama, President of Ghana, during a ceremony scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2026.
According to an announcement shared by the Presidency Communications Office, the ceremony will take place at 10 AM Korean time, which corresponds to 1 AM in Ghana.
The honour from the Seoul-based university recognises President Mahama’s leadership and contributions to public service and international engagement.
Yonsei University, founded in 1885, is one of South Korea’s most prestigious higher education institutions and has a long history of recognising global leaders and scholars through honorary degrees.
The recognition comes as President Mahama continues his official engagements in South Korea aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and the East Asian nation.
The ceremony forms part of activities during the President’s visit, which has included high-level meetings and cooperation discussions between the two countries.
