YEA clarifies it no longer oversees sanitation module
The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has clarified that the agency is no longer responsible for the sanitation module.
He explained that responsibility for sanitation has been transferred to the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), and therefore falls outside the mandate of the YEA.
According to him, issues relating to sanitation contracts, including those involving Zoomlion Ghana Limited, should no longer be directed at the agency.
Basintale urged the public, particularly those engaging on social media, to take note of the change and direct sanitation-related concerns to the appropriate authorities.
He made the clarification after appearing before Parliament’s Government Assurances Committee, where he was accompanied by the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo.
The session focused on issues affecting youth-focused institutions, including funding gaps.
