Man arrested with grounded human skull and animal parts on bus in Ashanti Region
Police have arrested a man identified as Benjamin Afedzie after he was allegedly found in possession of a ground human skull and several animal parts while travelling on a commercial bus in the Ashanti Region.
According to reports, the suspect was intercepted at Kwamang 50-50 when officers stopped and searched a sprinter bus travelling from Kumasi to Boamang.
A search of his belongings reportedly uncovered a powdery substance believed to be ground human skull, a food flask containing what appeared to be a fresh heart, two fresh eyeballs and a bottle filled with fresh blood.
During interrogation, Mr. Afedzie reportedly told police that the powder was indeed a human skull that had been ground into powder.
He further claimed that the heart found in the flask belonged to a pig, while the eyeballs and the blood were from a dog.
According to him, the items were being transported to a spiritualist, popularly known as a mallam, in Boamang, who was expected to use them to treat him for a heart condition.
Police say investigations into the matter are ongoing.
