N/R: Police Arrest 11 Nigerian suspects in internet fraud and drug crackdown
The Ghana Police Service’s Northern Regional Special Operations Team has arrested 11 suspects, including a 17-year-old, in a crackdown on internet fraud and drug peddling.
The operation, led by C/Inspector Abu Issahaku on 30 March 2026, targeted Yung and Wamale, resulting in the seizure of nine laptops, 11 mobile phones, three SIM cards, and suspected Indian hemp.

According to Chief Inspector Luckman, Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, “Eleven suspects were arrested, including nine believed to be involved in internet fraud. The retrieved exhibits are believed to have been used in internet fraud and drug-related activities.”
All suspects, who are Nigerian nationals, are in police custody assisting with investigations.
The police did not provide further details on the fraud but emphasised their commitment to combating organised crime in the region.
