Police retrieve stolen Honda CR-V in Kumasi, hunt for suspects
Police in Kumasi have successfully recovered a stolen vehicle less than 48 hours after it was reported missing, following an intelligence-led operation.
The vehicle, an unregistered 2019 Honda CR-V belonging to Alfred Gyimah, a legal practitioner with Toto Legal Firm, was reported stolen on April 3, 2026.
According to the report, the car had been taken a day earlier from the premises of his residence, where it had been securely parked.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspected thief or thieves gained access to the house through the kitchen door before retrieving the ignition keys from the dining table and driving away with the vehicle.
Acting on intelligence, a police team traced and recovered the vehicle on April 4, 2026 along a stretch of road between Bohyen and the Asoufia Highway at Asobonteng, near Kumasi Girls' Senior High School.
The vehicle has since been impounded as investigations continue.
Police say efforts are underway to track down and arrest the individuals behind the theft, with informants already activated to assist in the operation.
