Ghana Scholarships Authority opens applications for 2026/2027 tertiary scheme
The Ghana Scholarships Authority has announced the opening of applications for its Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for the 2026/2027 academic year.
In a statement issued in Accra on April 20, 2026 and signed by the Director-General of the Authority, Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei is inviting qualified Ghanaian students who have secured admission into recognised tertiary institutions across the country to apply for the scholarship.
The scheme is designed to support brilliant but financially disadvantaged students in pursuing higher education locally.
According to the Authority, the application window will run from Monday, April 20 to Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Applicants have been urged to submit their forms within the stipulated period, as late submissions will not be considered.
All applications are to be completed online through the official scholarship portal.
Applicants are required to fill out the application form and upload all necessary supporting documents as part of the process.
The Authority noted that shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in an aptitude test and a selection interview as part of the assessment process.
It further encouraged eligible students to take advantage of the opportunity and ensure that all information provided during the application process is accurate.
