Minister of Education addresses Bosco College of Education governing council

The Minister of Education, Haruna Idrissu, has emphasised the need for the Bosco College of Education to maintain its reputation for excellence in teacher training.

Speaking at the college's governing council meeting, he highlighted the institution's strong Christian values and its role in shaping the behaviour of young children.

The Minister also announced plans to establish a new teacher training college in Ezinlibo, Jomoro, Western Region, pending the availability of resources.

He urged the college to continue promoting sports and identifying young talents, announcing plans to relaunch schools and colleges football competitions.

Additionally, the Minister announced that the government will review legislation to allow alumni groups to participate in governing councils of the second-cycle schools, with a minimum representation of two members, including at least one woman.

The college, established in 1946, has played a significant role in Ghana's educational advancement, and the Minister commended its strong Catholic values and alumni presence.
