Chairman Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo loses father
Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, former National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), has lost his father, Opanin Edward Kwabena Ofosu-Ampofo.
According to family sources, the late Opanin Ofosu-Ampofo passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, April 5, 2026.
He is remembered by family and close associates as a man of dignity, wisdom, and quiet strength, whose life was defined by integrity, humility, and a deep commitment to both family and community.
His values are said to have had a lasting influence on his children and all who knew him.
Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo, who has held several key public positions—including former Minister for Local Government and Eastern Regional Minister—currently serves as Special Advisor on Political Affairs at the Office of the Vice President.
The family has indicated that details of the final funeral rites will be announced in due course.
