The Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF), Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, has led a team on a monitoring visit to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in the Greater Accra Region to assess patient outcomes and ongoing programme implementation.

The visit formed part of efforts to evaluate the impact of the Fund’s interventions and engage directly with beneficiaries.

The team interacted with patients enrolled under the Fund’s 50-case pilot programme, observing progress and gathering firsthand feedback on their recovery journeys.

According to the team, the visit provided an opportunity to move beyond reports and engage directly with patients to better understand the real-life impact of the initiative.

According to Darko-Opoku, observations during the visit highlighted signs of recovery, resilience, and improved well-being among beneficiaries.

The delegation also monitored ongoing GMTF activities at the facility, including patient onboarding processes aimed at strengthening access to care and improving service delivery.

She noted that the initiative represents a broader effort to build a more responsive and patient-centred healthcare system, particularly for individuals living with chronic conditions.

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is expected to expand its operations as part of efforts to enhance healthcare support systems and improve outcomes for patients across the country.
