Ghana Medical Trust Fund strengthens collaboration with Health Directors ahead of rollout
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is intensifying efforts to build strategic partnerships across the country ahead of its official rollout, engaging key stakeholders to ensure effective implementation.
As part of the initiative, the Fund has been holding engagements with Regional Directors of Health nationwide to deepen their understanding of its mandate and underscore their role in ensuring its success.
At a high-level meeting held at the headquarters of the Ghana Health Service, the Director-General, Prof Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, commended the Fund for its efforts to improve access to healthcare across the country.
He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening collaboration between the two institutions to ensure seamless coordination.
Prof. Akoriyea also welcomed ongoing developments under the initiative, particularly the construction of modern cardiology centres in Kumasi, Tamale, and Accra, which are expected to significantly enhance specialised healthcare delivery nationwide.
The Administrator of the Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, expressed appreciation for the continued support from the Ghana Health Service and called for even closer collaboration to deliver critical healthcare interventions to Ghanaians living with conditions covered under the scheme.
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is expected to play a key role in expanding access to quality healthcare, with stakeholders expressing optimism that sustained collaboration will help improve health outcomes and ensure no one is left behind.
