Deputy Transport Minister reaffirms commitment to gender equality at KAIPTC Women’s Day event
The Deputy Minister for Transport, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing gender equality and creating safer and more inclusive opportunities for women and girls across the country.
She made the remarks while representing the Minister for Transport during the commemoration of this year’s International Women’s Day at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre at Teshie in the Greater Accra Region.
Addressing participants as the guest speaker, the Deputy Minister emphasised the importance of empowering women as a pathway to national development.
She noted that investing in women and girls contributes significantly to building stronger communities and a more prosperous future for the country.
The event brought together stakeholders to celebrate the achievements of women while reflecting on the progress made and the work still required to achieve gender equality in Ghana and beyond.
The Deputy Minister also extended her best wishes to women across the country as part of the global observance of International Women’s Day.
