In a ceremony steeped in diplomatic tradition and symbolic statecraft, Ghana’s Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Paraguay, His Excellency Nii Amasah Namoale, on Monday, 4th May 2026, formally presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Paraguay, His Excellency Santiago Peña Palacios, at the Presidential Palace in Asunción.

The presentation of credentials officially marks Ambassador Namoale’s assumption of duties as Ghana’s accredited representative to Paraguay, acting on behalf of the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

The dignified ceremony, conducted in accordance with long-established diplomatic protocol, underscored the enduring values of sovereign respect, bilateral cooperation and mutual international engagement between Ghana and Paraguay.

The occasion further signalled Ghana’s growing strategic interest in strengthening its diplomatic, trade and cultural relations within the Latin American bloc.

During the engagement, Ambassador Namoale conveyed warm fraternal greetings and best wishes from President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana to President Santiago Peña and the people of Paraguay.

He reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to deepening cooperation in critical sectors including agriculture, trade, education, renewable energy, investment promotion, technology transfer and parliamentary diplomacy.

Ambassador Namoale also highlighted Ghana’s longstanding democratic credentials and its continued role as a beacon of peace, constitutional governance and economic opportunity on the African continent. He noted that South-South cooperation remains an important pillar in Ghana’s contemporary foreign policy architecture.

President Santiago Peña, in welcoming the Ghanaian envoy, expressed Paraguay’s readiness to enhance bilateral engagement with Ghana and commended the cordial relations existing between the two nations. He emphasised the importance of expanding cooperation between Africa and South America at a time when emerging economies are seeking stronger partnerships anchored on shared development aspirations.
