ORAL investigations pushing NPP to raise diplomatic concerns-A-G
Attorney- General and Minister for Justice, Dominic Ayine, has said the opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) calls for diplomatic protection are driven by fears of possible accountability over alleged corruption-related cases linked to their time in government.
Dr. Ayine argued that some members of the party are increasingly concerned about the legal consequences they could face as ongoing investigations and potential prosecutions progress.
He maintained that the government remains firmly committed to transparency, accountability, and the rule of law, stressing that no individual or group will be shielded from scrutiny where evidence of wrongdoing exists.
He made this reaction to the NPP's claims while speaking on the sidlines of the meeting of the Public Accounts Commitee
The Attorney- General further reaffirmed that the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative is still on course and will achieve its objective of retrieving state resources allegedly lost through corruption and financial mismanagement.
His comments come amid heightened political debate over anti-corruption efforts and the direction of state-led recovery programmes, with ORAL continuing to generate strong reactions across the political landscape.
