Tema Oil Refinery Managing Director visits Bunkpurugu
The Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery, Edmond Kombat, has paid a courtesy visit to the Bunkpurugu Constituency to thank residents for their strong support during the 2024 general elections.
The visit drew a large crowd of party supporters, traditional leaders, and community members, marking a significant moment for the North East Region.
His appointment is widely regarded as historic, being the first time an individual from Bunkpurugu and the broader Bimoba area has been named to head the refinery.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Kombat expressed deep appreciation to constituents for their role in securing electoral victories for both the Presidential candidate and Parliamentary candidates.
He also thanked John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress for entrusting him with the leadership role despite his humble beginnings.
He noted that his appointment demonstrates that leadership opportunities are accessible to all, regardless of geographical background, emphasizing that competence and dedication remain key considerations.
Mr Kombat urged residents to maintain unity, peace, and cooperation, stressing that these values are essential for development.
He encouraged constituents to support their Member of Parliament to accelerate progress in the area.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting development initiatives in collaboration with local leadership.
Key priorities highlighted include improving educational infrastructure—particularly addressing schools operating under trees—and rehabilitating major roads such as the Bunkpurugu–Nakpanduri and Nakpanduri–Nalerigu routes.
Residents welcomed the visit, describing his appointment as a source of pride and optimism for the constituency and the region at large.
The event concluded with renewed calls for unity and collective efforts to drive development and improve livelihoods.
