2026 FIFA World Cup: Kudus ruled out with hamstring injury
Ghana international Mohammed Kudus has been ruled out of the upcoming FIFA World Cup after suffering a hamstring setback that will keep him sidelined for an extended period.
The 25-year-old forward has struggled with injuries this year and has been out of action since January. Although he recently returned to individual training, further medical examinations have confirmed a relapse, with the injury expected to rule him out for at least three months.
The development ends any possibility of Kudus featuring at the tournament and is a setback for the Ghana national team, which had identified him as a key player.
Ghana have been drawn in a group alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
Kudus’ absence leaves a gap in the squad, requiring adjustments to the team’s plans ahead of the competition.
At club level, the injury is also a setback for Tottenham Hotspur and their manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Ghana will also be without defender Mohammed Salisu, further affecting the team ahead of the tournament.
