Icon Energies donates GHS1 Million to Black Stars World Cup Fund
Icon Energies has donated GHS1 million to support Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, providing a boost to the national team’s fundraising efforts.
The contribution was announced by the Chairman of the World Cup Fundraising Committee and Deputy Minister for Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, who commended the company for its timely support.
According to him, the donation forms part of efforts to mobilise resources to adequately prepare the Black Stars for the global tournament.
He expressed appreciation on behalf of the committee and the Ghana national team, describing the gesture as a strong demonstration of patriotism and confidence in the team.
Mr. Ampem noted that the support from Icon Energies would significantly enhance ongoing preparations and strengthen the collective drive towards a successful World Cup campaign.
He further thanked the company for its partnership and commitment to what he described as an important national cause, urging other corporate institutions to emulate the gesture and support the Black Stars.
