Ghana's Black Stars have been placed in Group C for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification tournament, which is scheduled to begin later this year.

The four-time African champions will face Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, and Somalia in their group. They will compete for a spot in the final tournament, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The draw gives the Black Stars an opportunity to rebuild following a historic low in their recent football history.

Ghana failed to win a single match during the 2025 AFCON qualification campaign, a performance that resulted in the team completely missing out on the tournament in Morocco.

This qualification failure followed consecutive group-stage exits in the two preceding editions of the competition.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has outlined the schedule for the qualification group stages as follows:

- Matchdays 1 and 2: September 21 to October 6, 2026

- Matchdays 3 and 4: November 9 to November 17, 2026

- Matchdays 5 and 6: March 22 to March 30, 2027

The final tournament lineup will be locked in by the conclusion of the final fixtures in March 2027.
