The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has donated 50 hampers to widows at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Kpehe, near Accra Newtown, as part of its community outreach and social support initiatives.

The beneficiaries included widows from both St Anthony Catholic Church in New Achimota and St Paul’s Catholic Church in Kpehe.

GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, who also serves as the second Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), personally presented the packages to the women.

Each donation hamper contained African wax print fabric, rice, mackerel, cooking oil, and tomato puree.

During the event, President Simeon-Okraku called on the mothers present to offer prayers for the national team as they prepare for the upcoming global tournament.

“As people who do football, we ask you, our mothers, to pray for us so all will go well with us and with the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup,” he stated.

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Madam Elizabeth Sekyiwaa expressed appreciation for the donation and shared her optimism for the national team's prospects, stating she hoped this tournament would yield greater success for Ghana than previous editions.

The Parish Priest, Rev Fr Francis Bawuah, also welcomed the delegation, commended the initiative, and led prayers for the association and the Black Stars.

The GFA president was joined by a delegation that included:

- Samuel Aboabre (Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and Black Stars Management Committee member)

- Simon Ehomah (Western Regional Football Association Chairman)

- Michael Osekre (Chief of Staff)

- Malcolm Frazier (Director of the GFA Foundation)

The church leadership was represented at the gathering by Madam Mary Ampah, Chairperson of the Parish Pastoral Council of St Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, and Mrs Jemima Attah Tengan, the church’s Secretary.

The presentation concluded with a period of fellowship, songs of praise, and group photographs.
