Carlos Queiroz promises Black Stars will fight for Ghana at 2026 World Cup
Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz says his team will fight for Ghana when the 2026 FIFA World Cup begins.
Queiroz is preparing to lead the Ghana national football team to their fifth FIFA World Cup appearance since their debut in 2006.
The Portuguese trainer is currently in the United Kingdom with some members of the squad ahead of Ghana’s international friendly against Wales national football team on June 2.
The match forms part of preparations for the World Cup as Queiroz works on finalising his squad for the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
In a message shared on social media, the Black Stars coach assured supporters of the team’s commitment ahead of the competition.
“To All Black Stars Football Fans,” the statement began.
“Today, with 24 days remaining before our first World Cup challenge, we begin what many may call a Mission (Im)possible.”
He said the team understands the level of sacrifice, discipline, effort, and commitment required to meet the expectations of Ghanaians.
“We are ready to fight together for every ball, every moment, for our dream,” he stated.
Queiroz ended the message with the words: “One Team. 33 million hearts. One heartbeat. The journey starts now. Enjoy it!”
