Clarification on open letter regarding the integrity of Volta Football Administration
The author's attention has been drawn to possible interpretations of the recent open letter addressed to the President of the Ghana Football Association regarding developments within the Volta Regional Football Association and the ongoing Middle League.
For the avoidance of doubt, the open letter was issued strictly as a public-interest appeal for fairness, transparency, due process, and stronger institutional oversight in the administration of Volta football. It was not intended to defame, malign, accuse, or injure the reputation of any specific person, official, club, sponsor, or institution.
Any references to perceptions, concerns, privileged access, financial influence, administrative interference, or stakeholder unease were made in the context of governance risk, public confidence, and the need for independent review. They should not be interpreted as a final finding of wrongdoing against any individual or office.
The author fully respects the Ghana Football Association, the Volta Regional Football Association, football administrators, sponsors, clubs, and all persons contributing to the development of the game. Sponsorship and investment in football remain important and commendable, but they must always coexist with fairness, neutrality, and equal application of the rules.
The central concern remains simple: Volta football must be protected from any perception, allegation, or practice that undermines confidence in competition outcomes, disciplinary processes, protest procedures, or administrative decisions. Where such concerns arise, the appropriate response is not hostility, but transparent review and institutional correction.
The author, therefore, calls on all stakeholders to treat the open letter as a constructive appeal for accountability, not a personal attack. If any expression in the earlier communication created a contrary impression, that was neither the intention nor the purpose.
The author remains committed to lawful expression, responsible public advocacy, respect for football institutions, and the continued development of Ghana football. The ultimate objective is to ensure that Volta football grows on the foundation of fairness, integrity, transparency, and trust.
