Eric Adu Gyamfi named Man of the Match in Ghana's 2-2 draw with Algeria
Ghana midfielder Eric Adu Gyamfi was named Man of the Match following the Black Starlets' 2-2 draw against Algeria in their opening Group D match at the 2026 CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Ghana took an early lead when Isaac Barfo scored in the second minute, and Adu Gyamfi doubled the advantage in the 10th minute with a long-range volley from the center area.
Adu Gyamfi's passing, movement, and defensive contributions helped Ghana dominate the first half and create multiple scoring chances.
However, Algeria responded in the second half by scoring twice to equalize, and they later missed a penalty that would have completed the comeback.
Ghana will play their second group match against Senegal on May 17.
