2026 FIFA WC: Ghana secures broadcast rights
The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has confirmed that Ghana will broadcast the 2026 FIFA World Cup live after securing transmission rights through government support and fundraising.
Speaking on Tuesday, May 12, during the presentation of a GH¢5 million donation from GCB Bank toward the Black Stars' campaign, the Buem MP stated that arrangements are finalized to telecast matches across selected local media platforms.
This donation is part of a broader national initiative to mobilise corporate financial backing as the team prepares for the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Ghana is set to make its fifth World Cup appearance in Group L against England, Croatia, and Panama.
The Black Stars begin their schedule on June 17 against Panama in Toronto, followed by matches against England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
To prepare for the competition, the team will play international friendlies against Mexico later this month and Wales on June 2.
