Kwesi Nyantakyi urges national support for Black Stars ahead of 2026 World Cup
Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kwesi Nyantakyi has urged Ghanaians to rally behind the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite recent concerns over the team's performances.
Nyantakyi, who led the GFA during Ghana's 2010 quarter-final run, expressed confidence in the team's ability to surprise doubters and emphasized that national support is crucial for their success.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic, Nyantakyi stated: “As I told somebody yesterday, never write off any Ghana team.”
“The time that you have little faith in them is when they spring surprises. Let us rally behind them, and I think they can do well.”

- June 17: vs. Panama at BMO Field
- June 23: vs. England at Gillette Stadium
