Medeama SC beat Basake Holy Stars in coronation match to cap title-winning season
Medeama SC defeated Basake Holy Stars 2-1 on Wednesday evening in their official coronation match before lifting the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League trophy.
The Tarkwa-based side had already secured the league title weeks earlier after a 5-2 win over Heart of Lions.
Following the title win, Medeama travelled to Accra for their final league fixture against Hearts of Oak before returning home for the coronation ceremony organised by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The coronation match against Basake Holy Stars was played at the TnA Stadium, where supporters gathered to celebrate the club’s league success.
Both teams produced a competitive performance, with the match level at halftime.
Medeama improved in the second half and eventually secured the winner through Derrick Fodjour to complete a 2-1 victory.
After the final whistle, Medeama players and members of the technical team received their winners’ medals before being presented with the Ghana Premier League trophy.
The title triumph makes Medeama SC two-time champions of the Ghana Premier League.
