The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has officially welcomed and expressed appreciation for the recent decision of the Appeals Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), describing it as a step that reinforces respect for the laws governing the sport and ensures the stability necessary for the smooth conduct of international competitions.

The Federation emphasized that, following the suspension of the match between Morocco’s national team and Senegal, it has consistently sought to uphold the rules of the game. FRMF clarified that its actions were not aimed at disputing sporting results but at ensuring that the laws of the competition were respected, thereby safeguarding the integrity and fairness of African football.

“Since the outbreak of the events during the match, we have insisted on the firm application of the competition laws. Our goal has always been to ensure that rules are respected and that competitions are conducted fairly,” the Federation said in a statement.

Following the initial ruling by CAF’s Disciplinary Committee, which FRMF appealed, the Appeals Committee acknowledged that the laws in force were not fully observed. The Federation stressed its commitment to abiding by all rules governing dispute resolution in competitions and highlighted its active participation in every session of the appeals process.

FRMF also expressed hope that this decision would help clarify regulations and bylaws for similar cases in the future, enhancing the credibility and organization of African football.

Looking ahead, the Federation confirmed it will continue to advocate for the strict and fair application of the laws in all competitions, including upcoming events such as the World Cup and the African Cup of Nations for Women scheduled for next summer.

Finally, FRMF extended its appreciation to all teams participating in the African Cup of Nations hosted in Morocco, describing the tournament as a “prominent moment in the history of African football.”
