Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artiste Epixode has disclosed that rapper Edem was the first person to ever pay him for his professional services.

According to Epixode, even though he did not initially ask for payment, Edem chose to reward him after he created graffiti artwork for one of his music videos.

At the time, Epixode said he was already making music, but mostly for fun.

“The first person who actually paid me for my service, even though I didn’t request money, was Edem.

I did graffiti for him in one of his music videos.

I was already Epixode, but I was just doing music for fun,” he explained.

He added that he got the opportunity after being contacted by a team searching for an artist in Jamestown who could draw for a music video shoot.

“They reached out to me when they were preparing to shoot a video.

They needed someone in Jamestown who could draw, and that’s how they found me,” he said.

Epixode also shared that over the years, he has worked with several well-known musicians, driven largely by his admiration for them and the excitement of collaborating with people he looked up to.

He mentioned working on graffiti projects for artistes like Stonebwoy, Patoranking (on the Pull Up remix), and Adina, as well as Prince Dovlo.

“Because I was excited to meet these celebrities I admired, I often did the work out of passion,” he added.
