Ghanaian Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu has opened up about a difficult experience he encountered during his first trip abroad.

In an interview with Zionfelix, which was shared on X on April 13, 2026, the actor explained how he was detained at Amsterdam Airport and later returned to Ghana.

According to him, the issue arose when he arrived at the airport and was unable to provide the full name and address of the person he intended to visit. This raised concerns with immigration officials, leading to his detention.

Kwaku Manu recounted that his travels have exposed him to several challenges, including an instance where he was denied entry into a country.

He admitted that upon arrival in Amsterdam, he forgot the full details of his host and could only recall a first name, which made it difficult to answer the officers’ questions.

He also shared that he kept talking in an attempt to explain himself, even requesting access to Wi-Fi so he could retrieve the information, but his request was denied.

Reflecting on the incident, the actor said he believes it may have been a form of divine intervention that protected him from a potentially troubling situation.

He later realized that the person he had planned to visit might not have been the right one, and things could have turned out badly if he had been allowed into the country.

Kwaku Manu added that after being taken into a room, he saw a mattress and decided to lie down and rest.

An immigration officer reportedly asked whether he still intended to enter the country or preferred to keep resting.

He further revealed that he tried to convince the officer by mentioning that he was a public figure and suggested that his name be searched online.

However, the officer mistakenly typed “Manu” instead of “Kwaku Manu,” which prevented them from finding accurate information about him.

In the end, he maintained that everything happened for a reason, believing that God was guiding and protecting him from an uncertain situation.
