Popular Kumawood actor Mr Beautiful has stirred conversation online after openly rejecting the popular saying “forgive and forget,” describing the phrase as unrealistic and unwise.

Speaking during an interview on the Okukuseku Talk Show hosted by Emelia Brobbey, the actor, whose real name is Clement Bonney, said he believes in forgiving people but refuses to erase painful experiences from his memory.

According to him, remembering past betrayals and disappointments helps him make better decisions about the people he associates with.

“Emelia, I don’t believe in forgive and forget. That saying is stupid to me. I can forgive you, but I will never forget what you did,” he stated.

The actor explained that human behaviour can easily change depending on situations and circumstances, making it important to stay mindful of how people have treated you in the past.

Mr Beautiful further argued that forgetting offences could expose people to repeated betrayal and poor judgement.

“Anyone who forgives and forgets is being careless. You should forgive, but never forget,” he added.

The Kumawood star also revealed that he intentionally keeps memories of every offence committed against him because those experiences continue to guide his personal decisions and relationships.

 “Every person who has offended me in this life, I’ve kept it locked in my memory. It actually helps me because whenever I reflect on those things, they guide the decisions I make,” he said.
